Situation: When University of Washington Bothell decided to offer a summer camp for middle school students to learn Java programming via casual games, they weren’t sure if there would be any campers interested.

Bookey Solution: We did a market analysis and feasibility study and found that there were gaps in offerings in their neighborhood, price range and subject area. We worked with UW Bothell to design the program and market it to local school districts, computer science teacher associations via printed materials, social media and online banners.

Result: A lot of happy campers filled the two sessions, and a wait list was created. This pilot program determined that UW Bothell can provide valuable services to their community, while engaging in great outreach. New camps will be offered next year including additional STEM topics.
